Job Description:
The Consumer Electronics Society (CESoc, an organization within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is seeking two current graduate students at an accredited university in Europe or Asia (one student from each) to assist with an ongoing research project to better understand:
• The benefits and value existing members (companies and individuals) of the society receive from their membership
• The current perception of the CESoc brand within the consumer electronics industry
• How the benefits and brand of CESoc can be adapted to increase membership retention and overall count, and industry sponsorship.
The selected students will work as part of a team consisting of a US based MIT Sloan School of Management MBA student as Manager, a Europe based graduate student, and an Asia based graduate student for the 2017-2018 academic year to develop a set of final recommendations in the spring of 2018, with presentation to the CESoc Board and publication. Additionally, the selected students will receive a stipend of $5000 USD to cover travel expenses to the selected conferences in Europe or Asia, which they will be required to attend.

The participants will have special access to industry leadership to assist them in understanding the Consumer Electronics/Technology industry and the goals of the CESoc membership.

About the Consumer Electronics Society

Required Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to travel to a regional conference(s) during the 2017-2018 academic year.

• Graduating during or after fall of 2018


Desired Qualifications:
• 3+ year of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or management consulting
