Entry Requirements: 0 to 50 hours of Japanese study experience
Program Fee: 80,000 yen (exclusive of accommodation, airfares, and meals)
Our university campus is located among the trendsetting areas of Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku, which are Tokyo’s centers of youth fashion and culture. Lectures by leading academics, businesspeople and fashion industry figures will deepen your knowledge and understanding of Japanese contemporary culture.
There will be guided tours of several key sites in Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku, from which you will gain marketing insights unavailable to tourists and general visitors. One highlight will be fieldwork in Isetan, a prestigious department store and center of cutting-edge fashion. There will also be visits to Japanese historical and traditional areas such as the Hamarikyu Japanese garden, the Asakusa temples, Akihabara, known as the birthplace of manga and otaku culture, the Tsukiji fish-market and the Kabukiza gallery.
